Our Treatments

Radiofrequency Ablation (ClosureFastTM)

Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment device that is placed into a diseased vein under ultrasound guidance through a small opening in the skin.
The small device delivers heat to the vein wall, causing it to shrink and seal closed.
Once the diseased vein is closed, blood will reroute itself to other healthy veins. The great thing about radiofrequency ablation is that its minimally invasive outpatient procedure that gets you back to normal the very same day.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for small varicose and spider veins less than 1-2mm in diameter. The face, hands, feet, and chest veins are the usual treatment locations.
A sclerosing solution is injected into the vein using a fine needle. The vein becomes irritated, collapses, and is gradually absorbed by the body. Since a solution is injected along the length of the vein, a large treatment area can be performed during one session.
The sclerosant placed in the vein causes little to no pain during treatment and is overall tolerated much better than laser therapy. The process causes a gradual fading of the treated vessel over a period of several weeks to several months.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy performed with the aid of ultrasound imaging aids the doctor in determining where to place the needle as well as assessing the number of injections that will be necessary.
The procedure begins with the patient lying on the examination table as a water-based gel is applied to the area on their body that will be observed. The transducer is kept firmly against the skin and is moved back and forth across the area to allow for the most detailed observation possible. Once the treatment site has been identified, the affected veins are injected with a sclerosant solution, which causes the veins to eventually collapse and be absorbed into the bloodstream.
After the sclerotherapy procedure, cotton balls and compression tape are applied to the injection site. Patients usually report only a mild burning sensation during the treatment.

Microfoam

Microfoam injection is a minimally invasive vein treatment for spider veins and varicose veins. This non-invasive, outpatient procedure uses an injectable foam solution.
During the treatment, the doctor will administer a small amount of microfoam. The microfoam fills the desired section of the vein and causes the diseased vein to collapse.
Blood flow is redirected to healthier nearby veins. The microfoam disperses as it comes into contact with blood in healthy veins.

Lymphedema

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels that transports lymph, a protein-rich fluid, back to the blood. Lymphedema is a chronic swelling disorder caused by an accumulation of this lymph fluid in the soft tissue. The buildup of stagnant fluid causes a mild to severe increase in limb girth, a decrease in tissue healing ability, and a high susceptibility to infections or cellulitis in the affected limb.
Lymphedema most often occurs in the arm or leg, but can also occur in the face, neck, abdomen, or genitals. Primary lymphedema is the result of missing or impaired lymphatic vessels; symptoms may develop at birth or later in life. Secondary lymphedema, a much more common type, is a result of lymph vessel damage or lymph node removal during surgery or radiation therapy. It may also occur after injury, scarring, trauma, or infection of the lymphatic system.

FAQs

Venous reflux disease – which leads to Leg or ankle swelling, Leg Pain and Aching, Leg Cramps, Restless leg, Leg heaviness or fatigue, Burning or Itching skin, Skin Changes or Rash.

Venous reflux disease is a progressive medical condition that if left untreated, will likely worsen over time and develop into a more serious form of venous disease called chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).

CVI leads to more serious outcomes such as poor healing wounds, permanent skin damage, and an increased risk of deep blood clot.

  • Patients get relief/improvement of symptoms after 2 days
This is a permanent fix to diseased refluxing veins in the legs
  • Proven long term results with positive patient outcomes and experience
  • Rapid recovery with patients resuming normal activities within a few days
  • The procedure takes about 20-40 minutes.
  • The procedure is almost always a permanent fix for the diseased veins being treated.
  • The number of treatments needed depends on the severity and number of veins that are diseased.

Ambulatory Microphlebectomy is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove large surface varicose veins. It is performed in-office under local anesthesia and involves making tiny, needle-sized punctures through which the veins are gently removed.

  • Quick procedure (about an hour) with local anesthesia, so you can walk in and out.
  • Tiny punctures, no stitches, and minimal visible scarring.
  • Most patients resume normal activities quickly.
  • Immediate improvement in varicose veins, relief from leg pain, heaviness, and swelling.

Recovery time is generally minimal. Most patients experience only minor discomfort and can resume normal activities shortly after the procedure
